Pittsburgh Pride is Solid In It’s Defense

5-15-13

Well, I think that it’s important that people realize Pittsburgh Pride is here because we are trying to bring forth and let the community know that we are not a bunch of oddballs, that we are not a bunch of people on the fringe. We are hard working citizens in this community working for the betterment of the whole, not just for our specific issues but for issues that are concerns to many of us.

Pittsburgh Pride is because of what it says, pride. We are prideful for who we are because we are citizens in this community standing here as voters, as people, as mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, cousins, in the community supporting trying to make Pittsburgh a better place to live. A place that is not filled with hate. A place not filled with people who do not care. For those of us that are involved with pride we do care. That is why we do what we are doing and that is why we want to make Pittsburgh a place of where we can live together in peace and harmony and live together without hate.

And for all of you that seem to be complaining out there I say, hey, why don’t you do something for a change instead of complaining. Why don’t you get involved and do something with your life. Why don’t you take some action that will show that you care. Why don’t you do something that shows you really are a helpful citizen not just one who complains all the time and also researching to make sure you have your facts right when you start attacking someone. Certainly some of you out there seem to have quite a bit of time on your hands to complain which makes me kind of wonder if the reason you complain so much is because people are complaining about you not having a job, you not having it together, you not contributing to society and if that is the case you better look in the mirror.

Sincerely,

John A. DeBartola
